About Abertay University

In the Scottish city of Dundee, there is a public institution called Abertay University, originally known as the University of Abertay Dundee. The Dundee Institute of Technology was founded in 1888 thanks to a bequest made in 1872 by Sir David Baxter, 1^st Baronet of Kilmaron, for the foundation of a mechanics’ institute in Dundee. It was one of the first to be declared a central institution, analogous to a “industry university,” and the Scottish Education Department recognized it as an educational centre as early as 1902. In 1994, Abertay was given university status.

In 1997, Abertay introduced the first computer games degree in the world, and in 2017, the university hosted a series of activities to mark 20 Years of Games. Beginning in 2006, Abertay was also the first institution to provide a degree in ethical hacking.

The Bernard King Library in Bell Street welcomed students in February 1998 and received a royal opening on June 30, 1998. The scholarship is worth £3,000 each year for a maximum of four years of study. The prize will be subtracted from the successful candidates’ tuition costs.

Eligibility

Interested persons must meet the requirements below to be eligible:

1. English is a required language. A higher degree of English proficiency is typically expected by the university from applicants whose first language is not English.

2. All nations in the world are eligible.

3. Have enrolled at Abertay University as a full-time postgraduate student for your first degree. Candidates who already possess a postgraduate degree from the UK are ineligible.

4. Have been designated by Abertay University as having an international (international) fee status.

5. Have fulfilled all of the academic requirements associated with your admission offer to enroll full-time in September 2022 or January 2023.

6. Have earned a degree that is at least the equivalent of a 2:1 in the UK.

Postgraduate students who are enrolled right now are not eligible for this award, nor are Abertay graduates.

Students who meet the aforementioned requirements and are admitted with Advanced Entry into Level 2 or higher are also eligible for this Award.

The Award will be given to you while you are a student in Dundee for each year of your undergraduate degree, up to a maximum of four years. Any year you spend working in industry or studying abroad will not count toward the Award.
